SORRY OUR SITE WAS DOWN There was a technical problem that put the site down temporarily -- sorry it took a few days to correct! CURRENT PLANS OF THAXTON The company has been performing well -- in fact beating its budget in the last few months -- after a slower than usual summer. There had been some discussion of making a distribution this winter, but with the anticipated money needed to make loans it appears management will play it safe and not draw down more on its line of credit for now. It is most likely that another distribution will take place in the spring. We know noteholders must be tired of hearing this, but the company continues to talk to potential purchasers. We believe strongly that patience will pay off, since the value of the company continues to grow, it continues to make distributions, and the final payoff will be better if everyone can hang in there until a fair sale can be completed. Because of the settlement of the litigation and the successful reorganization of the company, noteholders heve received about 63 cents on the dollar so far, and they still are entitled to receive the full value of the company. If the company sold for its true value, that should be enough to pay noteholders back in full. While we all wait for a sale, the company continues to pay yearly distributions. Meanwhile, with the guidance of Bob Dunn of the Finley Group, the value of Thaxton has continued to grow. If a buyer will not pay a fair price now, we believe it is very likely that a buyer will be found later who will pay even more for the company. We urge noteholders to be patient, because selling the company now at a discount price would not bring them much more than the regular distributions that are being made, and they would be losing a much larger payoff in the end.
